今回の記事で取り上げる英語表現は「hands down」です。

hands downの使用例

先日こちらのYoutube動画を見ていたときに「hands down」という連語に出会ったので、意味を調べてみました。

ちなみに「hands down」はこの動画の３：４３のところで次のように使われています。

It is hands-down one of my favorite desserts.

hands downの意味・定義

Oxford Learner’s Dictionariesでは次のように定義付けされています。

・[before noun ]easily a winner of a contest; definitely the one that people prefer

・easily and without any doubt

名詞の前に用いて「容易く勝利を収めた人」、「疑いようもなく人が好むもの」というような意味になります。

（あいつは容易く勝利した）

• This is hands down the best restaurant in this town.

（ここは間違いないく、この町で一番のレストランだよ）
